~Club
History~
Lake Shore Corvettes began with a
gathering of Corvette owners for a picnic in June of 1967. That year the
decision was made to form an all volunteer non-profit club and
incorporate. Over the years the Club has increased in membership. Currently, we
have around one hundred members, owning 70 cars from 1953 through 2011.
Lake Shore is primarily a social organization. We enjoy the camaraderie that the cars bring us. The Corvette has introduced us to many different
people. We like to get together for dinners, trips, concerts, parades, and
other social events. In the past the Club was active in auto-cross and
drag racing and there is some interest in getting back to that. We are
also been active in local level contributing money and volunteering
services for people in time of need.
The National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC)
has been our sanctioning body for many years. The NCCC
has a membership of 17,317+ Corvette
enthusiasts. It provides competition structure and standardized rules for speed events and car shows. The
NCCC participates in the raising of money for worthwhile charities.
We meet at 7:00 PM on the fourth
Sunday of each month (excluding December) at the American Legion Post
83, RT 4 (3615 Hayes Ave.) Sandusky, OH.
